Honda Motor Co. (HMC) has introduced two new electric vehicles (EVs) that it plans to build at a multibillion-dollar manufacturing complex in the U.S.
Honda unveiled the EVs at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The company said that the new vehicles will be part of its “0 Series” EVs and will be built at a plant in Ohio.
One of the EVs is a sedan and the other is a sport utility vehicle (SUV), said the automaker.
Honda said production models of both new EVs will launch in North America in 2026, starting with the SUV and then the sedan.
The company didn’t provide any details about the new EVs, such as pricing, battery range, and specifications.
Honda’s O Series electric vehicles are different than its other models and feature sleek, futuristic designs.
At the Consumer Electronics Show, Honda also announced a new operating system for its 0 Series vehicles, called “Asimo OS,” that the company said will offer hands-free driving.
The automaker is planning to install Asimo OS in all Honda 0 Series models going forward.
Honda is in the process of merging with fellow Japanese automaker Nissan Motor (NSANY).
The stock of Honda Motor Co. has declined 5% over the past 12 months to trade at $30.31 U.S. per share.
