For 2026, Toyota (NYSE:TM) is introducing the Prius Plug-in Hybrid Nightshade Edition – a bold new chapter in the Prius lineup that fuses sleek sophistication with an unmistakable edge. Built off the XSE grade, the Nightshade Edition elevates the iconic design with an array of captivating black accents that enhance the already stunning profile.
“From the sleek black badging and door sills to the stylish door handles and bumper trim, every detail has been meticulously crafted to create a cohesive and aggressive look,” read this morning’s news release.
Adding to its commanding presence, the Nightshade Edition features 19-inch black-finished alloy wheels, infusing the plug-in hybrid with a spirited attitude that sets it apart from the crowd. The Nightshade Edition will be available in Karashi, Wind Chill Pearl, and Midnight Black Metallic – offering a captivating blend of elegance and edge.
The 2026 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will be offered in SE, XSE, Nightshade Edition and XSE Premium. With a 13.6 kWh lithium-ion battery, the SE grade has a manufacturer-estimated 44-mile all-electric driving range rating. While the XSE, Nightshade and XSE Premium grades have a manufacturer-estimated 40–mile all-electric driving range rating.
The Prius Plug-in Hybrid combines Toyota's fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System with a 2.0-liter engine and electric motor generators for an efficient driving experience with a manufacturer-estimated combined rating of up to 52 MPG. It also has impressive horsepower with 220 net-combined hybrid system horsepower.
TM shares lost two cents to begin Monday at $7.87.
