Expect Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to open higher after the firm posted second-quarter earnings. Although revenue growth is not close to that of Nvidia (NVDA), the earnings and revenue beat expectations.
AMD reported a 36% Y/Y rise in revenue, to $7.44 billion. It earned $0.96 in EPS (non-GAAP). In Q2, AMD is forecasting revenue of up to $7.4 billion.
Palantir (PLTR) may recover from Tuesday’s 12.05% drop to $108.86. On Monday, the firm posted a 39.3% Y/Y growth in revenue, to 39.3%. However, the 70 times price-to-revenue and the 160 times free cash flow suggested that markets priced PLTR stock to perfection.
Palantir is expanding its capability in large language models, then turning that into business value. The company will win more customers, especially in the government sector.
Super Micro Computers (SMCI) posted earnings of $0.31 per share, missing the $0.50 EPS estimate. The firm is forecasting Q4 EPS of $0.40 to $0.50 on revenue of $5.6 billion to $6.4 billion. The firm blamed the macroeconomic environment for its weaker performance ahead. CEO Charles Liang said that some customers delayed purchases of data center solutions in the latest quarter.
This afternoon, the Federal Reserve will announce its rate policy for May. Markets are expecting the Fed Funds rate to stay the same.
