Ford, Honda And GM Recall 80,000 Vehicles In Canada

Major automakers Ford (F), Honda (HMC), and General Motors (GM) have recalled a combined 80,000 vehicles across Canada.

Ford is recalling nearly 50,000 vehicles in Canada due to a faulty integrated park module that could increase the risk of a crash.

The impacted vehicles are Ford F-150 trucks made between 2022 and 2026, Ford Maverick 2025 and 2026 models, and the Ford Mustang Mach-E made between 2024 and 2026.

At the same time, Honda is recalling nearly 11,000 vehicles due to brake issues that could increase the risk of an injury.

The Acura ILX model years 2016 and 2020 are impacted by Honda’s recall.

Honda is notifying Acura owners in Canada and advising them to take their vehicle to a dealership to replace the brake cylinder.

And General Motors is recalling nearly 21,000 vehicles in Canada for a software problem that could cause the pedestrian warning system to not work.

The impacted vehicles are the Chevrolet Equinox EV, model years 2025 and 2026.

General Motors is providing a wireless, over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the body control module software, said the company.

Impacted owners can also schedule an appointment to have the software update performed at a General Motors dealership.

The recalls come amid a flurry of notices and updates to end the calendar end. They also come as Canadians enter the often-treacherous winter driving season.

The stocks of Ford and General Motors are each up more than 40% this year, while Honda’s share price has gained 6%.
