NextNav Slips as Mapping System Activated

NextNav Inc. (NASDAQ: NN) shares decreased in price Monday. The company, claiming to be a leader in next generation positioning, navigation and timing, announced today that its 3D mapping system is now live at select early adopter Emergency Communications Centers within the North Central Texas Emergency Communications District (NCT9-1-1). Full deployment across the district is scheduled for completion later this quarter.

This breakthrough technology allows 9-1-1 call centers to see not just the horizontal location of a caller, but also their vertical position — in other words, how high they are within a building. By visualizing calls in a 3D wireframe view of buildings, first responders can visualize where help is needed faster and more accurately, especially in tall or complex buildings.

"The ability to locate callers and responders with this level of precision is a significant advancement for public safety. It allows us to respond faster and more accurately, particularly in urban and multi-story settings." said Rodger Mann, Chief Innovation Officer of NCT9-1-1. "NextNav has been a valuable partner, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing public safety."

The system is powered through a partnership between NextNav and a next-generation cloud platform for public safety. Key features include real-time vertical location data, estimated floor levels, and detailed 3D building maps — all integrated into the dispatch center’s main mapping system.

NN shares let go of 22 cents, or 1.4%, to $15.18.
